Individual and Small Group Counseling
In addition to character lessons, some students will benefit from individual or small group counseling.
Individual counseling is provided when a student has immediate needs or concerns. It is offered on an "as-needed" basis in a confidential setting.
Similarly, small group counseling is available to students when a need is determined. Some topics that may be addressed in group counseling are: handling difficult emotions, study skills, impulse control, and changing families. Group counseling may also be used with students expressing difficulties dealing with developmental tasks, relationships, and personal concerns. A variety of techniques and materials may be used in sessions, such as books, videos, role play, and games. Parental permission is obtained for group counseling.
